Critical Care

Pet emergency? We can help!

As a loving pet parent, you never want to imagine a situation in which your cherished companion needs urgent medical care. Unfortunately, emergencies happen. The best thing you can do for your pet is to be prepared ahead of time, knowing exactly who to call in your time of need.

Willowbrook Veterinary Hospital, P.C. is equipped to provide critical care during our regular office hours. Our staff is experienced in emergency veterinary care and we’re ready to step in at a moment’s notice, delivering whatever medical, diagnostic or surgical care is necessary.

Some of the signs and symptoms that may indicate a pet emergency include:

  • Difficulty breathing
  • Choking
  • Vomiting or diarrhea that contains blood or lasts longer than 24 hours
  • Ingestion of a toxic substance or foreign object
  • Trauma, such as being hit by a car
  • Cuts, lacerations or puncture wounds
  • Swollen abdomen
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Lameness
  • Disorientation
  • Foaming at the mouth
  • Seizures or convulsions
  • Loss of consciousness

If you experience any of these situations, we recommend calling our office immediately. By phoning ahead, you allow our experienced staff to assess your pet’s condition and provide first aid instructions. It also lets us prepare the hospital for your pet’s arrival so we’re ready to administer the appropriate care the moment you both arrive.

Critical care is available any time during our normal business hours. For after-hours urgent care needs, we recommend contacting:
