Certified Veterinary Technician
Zanai (Zee) was born and raised in sunny southern California and recently moved to Vancouver in August 2024. Raised by her grandparents, at a young age she knew she had a strong connection and love for animals. So much so, that she decided at 10 years old that I would grow up to work with them!
At 15 she started an occupational program for animal husbandry and handling and landed my first position as a kennel attendant in a small mixed practice hospital. From there I continued my education, obtaining my veterinary assisting certification in 2014 and moving on to graduate with my associates of science in veterinary medicine and technology from Carrington College in 2018. A few months later she took the VTNE exam and became a Registered Veterinary Technician.
She has continued to learn and grow within the veterinary field. As of September 2024 she
obtained her license as a Certified Veterinary Technician in Oregon. She has spent most of her career in specialty medicine, specifically emergency and critical care;
however I have gained valuable experience working in other specialties such as dentistry,
internal medicine, neurology, orthopedics, and surgery, as well as other areas of veterinary
medicine such as general practice, exotics, and continuing education/training. After 15 years in this field she can’t imagine doing anything else. Zee value's being a voice for every
animal she comes in contact with no matter if they have fur, scales, or feathers and making sure
they each get the care and attention they deserve.
Zee and her fiance have 2 dogs (Vienna Rose and Aurora Borealis), 3 cats (Rhea, Calypso, and Athena) and our newest addition a bearded dragon (Mortimer), all who were adopted/rescued but really in each of their ways rescued her! When not at work you can find her cuddled up with a good book and one or multiple of my fur kids, trying one of my fiance’s food creations, or exploring the new state she calls home!
